Cyber Bullying

Name: John Gibson

Article link: http://www.isafe.org/imgs/pdf/education/CyberBullying.pdf

Article Title: The Effects of Cyber Bullying: Teen Takes His Own Life
Summary: Awhile ago 13 year old son Ryan took his own life. Ryan was an outwardly happy -go-lucky kid with two loving and supportive parents. Ryan did not leave a note and his peers at school did not give the counselors and police any logical reason for his actions. Ryan had been Imed by another boy who had been sexual harassing him in harsh ways.
2nd Paragraph: I think that he should have not tried to bully back because that had only made the situation worse. I don’t agree that it was the computers fault that he had killed himself I believe that the people he talked to and had back to back conversations with had a lot to do with his death.
3rd Paragraph: The article never said anything on the boy who had been bullying Ryan, never said a name or anything. Ryan the one who was being bullied nights after the last incident of the bullying had taken his own life.
4th Paragraph: His parents could have been contacted and they could have been aware of the bullying if Ryan would have told them. Ryan could have just ignored the bully and not try and bully him back.
5th Paragraph: This applies to me because I believe that this could happen to anyone in the world including me, but I believe that I would not go and take my own life for what someone else thinks of me. This could effect my family because if I was ever being bullied I would be sure to notify them and let them know what is going on so that maybe they could put a stop to it so that I would not have to deal with it.

7 "netiquettes" it lists are:

netiquette is important because it keeps people from abusing their privelege on the internet and it protects virsues and many other things that people would do on the internet.

Acceptable Use Policy

an AUP is rules and guidelines that you have to follow when using a computer.
an AUP used at Glenvar with rules and guidelines telling us what we can and cannot do.
5 rules and why they would be important are:
no music- no distraction
no downloading- slow down computer give it viruses
no games- keep you focused on school

AUP's are necessary because they help people do things that they are not supposed to do.
If I were the boss of a large company where each of my employees had their own computer and access to internet, my rules and regulations would include:

4.You have to have a title. include all the html codes that are needed to put things on your site. have to have html at the beginning and 5.google.com, nba.com. myspace.com
i feel good about html and i like it a whole lot. i already knew that the html was one of the things the internet uses to create websites.
that it is easy to create a html website if you know what your doing and you do it right.
yea i mean if i have a job that requires the work that the html does then yea it will help me in the future.

Ehternet cord allows you to connect to the internet using game systems that help you communicate and play with other users all over the world.
you need the networking cable, two RJ-45 jacks, and cable cutting pliers. You may want to change the font color to match for the order.. just an idea.) cut cable into desired length, make sure the blue is inside the RJ-45 jack, spread out the wires and twist them so that they are fanned out, place wires in order from left to right light orange, dark orange, light green, dark blue, light blue, dark green, light brown, dark brown.
you test by making sure the wires touch the copper at the top and that the blue is inside the RJ-45 jack and that it shows the light on the machine thing to show that it is working.
My personal reaction to the ethernet cable was that it was very easy. I did not mess up any times. Nothing i would do the exact same thing and create another just as easy.

communication, save data, quicker working, share files.

local area network it is in a local area. wans are wide area networks that are available over a wide area.

three common network topologies are star, bus, ring

communicate, share file, save files, transfer files.

client server networks are for like businesses and other things in relation to that and peer to peer is more like home computer networks or something that can be talked about and worked on with everyone.

What is the purpose of a blog? What pros and cons do you see about blogs? Are they safe? Why/Why not. Explain how blogs could be used as an educational tool.

The purpose of a blog to me is that you can communicate with friends, family, and anyone in the world with it. Some pros i see about blogs are that they are very helpful. Cons for blogs i really dont seen anything. I believe that the blogs are safe as long as you dont put anything on them that is not supposed to be. They can be used as an educational tool because you can create things on it and you can add stuuf to the blog that can be school related.
